Julie Kegels SS27, Apple of the Day: the LVMH Prize winner opens Paris with a collection about gravity

Julie Kegels opened Paris Fashion Week spring 2027 at 14:30 on 28 September at the Cité de la musique, in the 19th arrondissement, with a show called Apple of the Day. The title is a nightly habit, a jonagold apple before sleep. The idea is gravity: weight treated as value rather than burden, after six months of the LVMH Prize competition that she says filled her professional life with more conversations, opportunities and responsibilities. Clothes were cut to look as if they were falling: low-riding skirts, dresses sliding off the body, sleeves peeling away, hems weighted with sequins, while organza stayed light. Vinyl accessories and the shoes carried the colour against a beige base. She is Belgian, trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, founded the label in 2024 and won the 2026 LVMH Prize on 4 September at the Fondation Louis Vuitton: 400,000 euros and a year with a team of LVMH experts.
