still_in_draft is a text-only fashion publication on Instagram, on this website, still-in-draft.com, in a weekly newsletter and in the still_in_draft app for iPhone. This page sets out what we collect through each of them, why, where it is kept and how to have it removed.

Last updated 14 October 2026. Questions or requests: sid@still-in-draft.com.

The short version

We collect very little, we never sell it, and we never share our list. Reading the website, the app or the account needs no sign-up. There are no advertising trackers. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie banner; until then no cookies are set.

What we collect, and why

01Newsletter Your email address, if you subscribe. With it we store the page you signed up on, whether you ticked "tell me when the app opens", and the time. We use it only to send the weekly and, if you ticked the box, one note when the app opens. The basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link; using it records the opt-out and stops all further sends. To have your address deleted outright, email us.
02App account Your name and email, and a phone number only if you give one. An account is optional; everything in the app can be read without one. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication or by Sign in with Apple, so we never see your password. The phone number is optional and used only if you ask us to reach you about a partnership. The basis is providing the account you asked for. Account, then Delete account, removes your profile and your account immediately.
03Your messages What you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your address to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
04Your device Some things stay on your device and never reach us. Your quiz streak, and whether you have seen the opening animation, are saved in your browser or in the app on your phone. Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes them.
05Server logs Standard technical logs. The companies that host the website and the database keep routine request logs, such as IP address, browser type and time, to run and secure their services.
05bAnalytics Google Analytics, only if you accept it. If you tap Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 counts visits and how the site is used: pages viewed, roughly where visitors are, the device and browser, newsletter sign-ups, quiz rounds finished and filters used. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. The basis is your consent; Cookie settings at the foot of every page changes your answer at any time, and declining sets no analytics cookies at all.
06Instagram We use Meta's tools only for our own account. Our connection to Instagram is used to publish to the still_in_draft account and to read how its own posts perform. We do not collect or store personal information about the people who view or follow it. When a post tags an account, it uses that account's public username. Comments and messages sent to us on Instagram are handled by Meta under Meta's own privacy policy.

Who handles it for us

Google (Firebase, which stores newsletter sign-ups and app accounts in its London region, and Google Workspace, which sends the newsletter and holds our email). Vercel, which hosts this website. Apple, for Sign in with Apple and the App Store. Meta, for Instagram. Buy Me a Coffee, only if you choose to leave a tip there, under its own policy. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on the safeguards UK law provides for international transfers.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe and ask for deletion, or until we stop the newsletter. App accounts: until you delete the account. Emails: as long as needed to deal with what they are about.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email sid@still-in-draft.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

still_in_draft is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
