LVMH and Kering's joint model charter raises the minimum age for models representing adults to 18 from 16, from Paris Fashion Week 2027; in May 2019 LVMH defended 16 when Kering moved to 18 alone ('What matters is not so much the age as the conditions')

Kering's case in 2019, from its sustainability chief Marie-Claire Daveu: models over 18 have the physiological and psychological maturity the work demands. The 2017 charter also required every model to carry a certificate proving their overall health. LVMH's brands include Louis Vuitton, Dior and Fendi; Kering's include Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
