Diane von Furstenberg's wrap dress sold a million in two years

The wrap dress arrived as the women's liberation era was rewriting who got to go to the office, and DVF gave that woman something drip-dry that took her from desk to dinner. She ran it in Women's Wear Daily wearing it herself, above a line she scrawled on the photo without thinking. Fifty years on, it is still read as shorthand for the woman in charge.
