The Harrington jacket is named after a man who didn't exist

The Harrington jacket is named after a man who didn't exist. Baracuta made the G9 in 1937, in Manchester. Decades later, the actor Ryan O'Neal wore it as Rodney Harrington in the TV soap Peyton Place, and the nickname stuck. The real name is the G9. Everyone just calls it the Harrington, after a character who was purely fictional.
