Margot Robbie's 761-hour gold Chanel by Matthieu Blazy, Met Gala, 4 May 2026

Margot Robbie's Met Gala dress on 4 May 2026 was a strapless, draped gold lamé gown by Matthieu Blazy (@matthieu.blazy) for Chanel (@chanelofficial), her first custom piece from the house's new designer, with a petal-lined train and a feathered gold flower at the back. Chanel's ateliers put 761 hours into it. The gala's theme was Costume Art, with the dress code Fashion Is Art. Robbie, a Chanel ambassador chosen by Karl Lagerfeld, was at her fourth Met Gala: she debuted in 2014 in Prada (@prada), came back in 2016 in Calvin Klein, and in 2023 wore an archival Chanel gown for the Lagerfeld year. Andrew Mukamal styled her, as he has on her press tours.
