Goyard's chevron predates the Louis Vuitton monogram

Goyard's chevron predates the Louis Vuitton monogram. Maison Goyard dates to 1853, and Edmond Goyard created the Goyardine chevron canvas in 1892, four years before LV's monogram arrived in 1896. The Y-shaped pattern nods to the family name and its log-driving past, and it is still painted on by hand, dot by dot. Quietly old, and quietly hard to fake.
