Beyoncé's crystal-skeleton Met Gala gown by Olivier Rousteing, 4 May 2026: his first dress after Balmain, her first gala since 2016

Beyoncé's gown for the Met Gala on 4 May 2026 was by Olivier Rousteing (@olivier_rousteing): a sheer flesh-toned base with crystals mapped over it as a skeleton, running down to the gloves, under a feathered cape that took its own space on the carpet and a crystal crown. Ty Hunter styled it, with Chopard jewellery; Rokael Lizama did the make-up and Neal Farinah the hair. Rousteing had left Balmain (@balmain) the previous November after sixteen years at the house and fourteen as its creative director. Beyoncé (@beyonce), at the gala for the first time since 2016, was a co-chair alongside Nicole Kidman (@nicolekidman), Venus Williams (@venuswilliams) and Anna Wintour (@annawintour), for the exhibition Costume Art. She arrived with Jay-Z (@jayz) and Blue Ivy. Photographs by SWinxy, CC BY 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
