The first Hermes silk scarf was a board game

The first Hermes silk scarf was a board game. In 1937, Hermes issued its first carre, 'Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches', adapting a 19th-century parlour game onto 90cm of silk. Robert Dumas designed it with the artist Hugo Grygkar. The carre has been a house signature ever since. A scarf that started as a game.
